HUNE COMPANY ANNOUNCES CAST AND CREATIVE TEAM FOR NOT MAD

HOUSTON—Hune Company announces the cast and creative team for its inaugural production, NOT MAD in the 2015 Living Room Series. Founder and Artistic Director Matt Hune directs this unique work that is receiving its world premier and has been written and created by the company.

The cast includes Emma Hightower, Elizabeth Martinsen, Regina Ohashi, Billy Rosenberg, Kathleen Teodoro, and Maggie Wintz. Not Mad begins performances on July 30, 2015, in the Living Room, 1210 Stanford Street in Montrose.

Not Mad explores Shakespeare’s King Lear, tears it apart, and re-imagines a new story. One that takes place today with a family that is plagued with power and misfortune. This is an attempt to understand the relationship between fathers and daughters and what it means to grow up.

Part theatre, part dance, and part delusion. Not Mad is certain to have you question your idea of live performance.

The production is the first in the Living Room Series – a season of four plays in a Montrose living room that has been converted into a small theater. Each night only twenty audience members will fill the seats in the intimate space.

“This series aims to keep budgets low, space small, and imaginations large,” said Artistic Director Matt Hune. “Some of Houston’s most innovative and talented artists are set to be part of this series. It’s a chance for people to experience a new kind of theater that is imaginative and extremely intimate.”

The designers of Not Mad include Jacob Ostdiek (sets), Gina Cook (costumes), and Giovanni Youssef and Emma Martinsen as assistant directors.

The production opens Thursday July 30, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., and runs through August 8, 2015. Please note our curtain times: all performances run Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. as well as Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.

The ticket price is $20 for general admission seating. Tickets are available online at www.hunecompany.com and at the door. The box-office is open on show days only two hours before curtain time.

Hune Company’s Living Room is located in Montrose at 1210 Stanford Street, Houston, TX 77019. Free street parking is available.

Hune Company is a theatrical production company based in Houston that develops expansive productions that explore the inherent poignancy of live performance.
